In a recent announcement, the Pi Network project stated that they "may" open the network (Open network) in Q1/2025. Thus, the planned mainnet launch in 2024 has not materialized.
Not 2024, Pi will open the network in 2025
According to BeInCrypto's report, in their announcement, the Pi Network project stated that they have achieved over 18 million KYC and over 8 million Pioneers moving to the mainnet. The project also stated that thanks to the recent major speed upgrades, KYC applications and mainnet migrations are being processed faster than ever, with nearly 200,000 Pioneers migrating in the past day.
However, despite these seemingly positive signals, the PCT team also knows that the Open network may be launched as early as Q1/2025, while narrowing the gap between Pioneers who have completed KYC and those who have migrated to the mainnet to ensure the comprehensiveness and stability of the ecosystem at the Open network. Notably, the Q1/2025 timeline is also not entirely certain.
Previously, this project has also missed several deadlines with the community regarding the mainnet launch. The most recent target was December 31, 2024, but this milestone was also not achieved. Recently, ChatGPT also predicted a very low probability, less than 20%, of the Pi Network opening the mainnet in 2024.
There are many conflicting opinions in the community of Pi enthusiasts after this project's announcement of the updated network opening timeline. Many still believe in the project's potential and are willing to wait. They patiently await the opening of the mainnet and the reveal of all use cases, partners, and new developments in the Pi Network ecosystem. They are very eager to know the value of Pi, as they are confident that you will give true pioneers a fair chance to claim ownership of their accounts through KYC.
Meanwhile, a significant portion of investors feel disappointed and are increasingly losing faith in the project after these missed deadlines. They argue that the promise of an Open Mainnet by the end of 2024 has not materialized, and Pi Network continues to deceive users.
