James Butterfill, Head of Research at UK crypto asset manager CoinShares, shared his outlook for the Bit price in 2025. He expected a potential peak of $150,000 and a correction to $80,000.
Butterfill is one of many crypto leaders who expect BTC to surpass $150,000 this year, despite the current selloff.
Most Predict Bullish Bit Price in 2025
In an interview with CNBC, Butterfill explained that these numbers could be possible next year. Reaching $250,000, reflecting 25% of the gold market, is a long-term expectation, he said.
Bit currently accounts for around 10% of the gold market value. The CoinShares leader emphasized that this milestone would take time.
"Timing it precisely is difficult, and I don't expect $25 by 2025. But Bit is likely to move in that direction over time." - James Butterfill, Head of Research at CoinShares
He suggested that both $80,000 and $150,000 are achievable during 2025. The lower $80,000 price is related to the potential pullback if pro-crypto policies proposed by former US President Donald Trump are not realized.
Most experts say the supportive regulatory environment in the US remains a key driver of the Bit price.
Other Firms Predict Bit Price Appreciation
CoinShares is not the only company presenting a positive outlook on Bit. Bitwise Asset Management expects Bit to reach $200,000 by the end of 2025. This would greatly benefit large crypto holders like MicroStrategy.
Meanwhile, VanEck has presented a long-term forecast of Bit reaching $3 million by 2050. This is likely driven by the potential adoption of the asset as a reserve asset.
The company's analysis points to the negative correlation of Bit with the US dollar and the positive correlation with M2 money supply growth as factors supporting the bullish stance.
Additionally, institutional investors continue to show interest in Bit. Analysts at BlackRock have suggested allocating 1% to 2% of traditional investment portfolios to BTC, reflecting an important shift in mainstream adoption of crypto.
Further, countries including Russia, Japan, the US, and Switzerland have introduced proposals to establish national Bit reserves, further strengthening confidence in the future.
Pantera Capital, known for generating high returns through Bit funds, predicts that BTC could reach $117,000 by 2025 and $740,000 by 2028. These forecasts emphasize the growing belief that Bit can provide substantial returns in the coming years.
