Wayfinder is emerging, aiming to bring revolutionary improvements to agents in the on-chain environment. The core of the project is the $PROMPT token, and a Token Generation Event (TGE) will be held in Q1 2025.
As the industry's interest and attention in Wayfinder continues to grow, this article will introduce what Wayfinder is, how it works, and how to earn $PROMPT by staking $PRIME.
What is Wayfinder
In April 2023, researchers at Stanford University published a paper detailing a case study of 25 AI players simulating human behavior in an RPG game. This research inspired the developers of the Parallel card game, prompting them to start experimenting with an AI-centric game, which eventually evolved into the upcoming Parallel Colony.
Their vision is to create a new game mode that allows human players to control and benefit from the never-ending game agents. These agents have unique personalities, learn from experience, accumulate resources on-chain, influence each other, and engage in battles.
To realize the vision of Colony, the Parallel team decided to develop a dedicated AI infrastructure. This decision led to the release of the Wayfinder whitepaper and the launch of the Wayfinder platform. Currently, the Wayfinder platform is live but still in a closed Alpha testing phase, with its infrastructure still under development.
It's worth noting that while Colony catalyzed the birth of Wayfinder, the design goals of Wayfinder are not limited to serving Colony or games. The system is chain-compatible and, once opened, will support various on-chain agents across multiple networks, such as Ethereum, Solana, and Base.
How Wayfinder Works
In the Wayfinder ecosystem, users can create agents to represent their interactions with blockchain applications. For example, performing swaps, minting, cross-chain bridging, and deployments, all of which can be done through natural language instructions without manual clicking.
To help agents navigate the on-chain environment, Wayfinder introduces Wayfinding Paths, which are pre-defined workflows. These paths are like roadmaps, providing navigation guidance for specific objectives, such as completing a cross-chain DeFi yield strategy.
This design fosters a growing knowledge graph, serving as a collective memory for Wayfinder agents, allowing them to continuously self-improve without repeating mistakes or starting decision-making from scratch.
The core of the system is the upcoming native token $PROMPT, which can be staked to propose and maintain navigation paths, and earn rewards from bounties or usage fees for new paths. $PROMPT may also be used to purchase advanced agent capabilities, such as expanded storage.
Earn $PROMPT by Staking $PRIME
The planned total supply of $PROMPT is 1 billion, with 45% allocated to community members who need to stake Parallel's $PRIME token within Wayfinder.
The staking activity began in June 2024 and will continue until June 2027. The longer the lock-up period, the higher the multiplier on the final $PROMPT allocation for the user. The exact returns are not yet clear, but if the market cap of $PROMPT reaches billions of dollars, this could potentially generate substantial returns.
To participate, users only need to prepare some $PRIME on Ethereum or Base, and then follow these steps:
- Visit cache.wayfinder.ai
- Sign a verification message with your wallet to log in
- Click the "Cache PRIME" button, then click "Cache PRIME" again
- Read the prompt about choosing a lock-up period, click "I understand" - make sure not to stake any funds you can't immediately access!
- Enter the amount of PRIME you want to stake on the interface, then click "Next"
- Select the lock-up period you want, ranging from 21 days to 3 years, then click "Preview PRIME Staking"
- Confirm the settings and click "Cache PRIME", completing the transaction with your wallet
- After staking, you can track your score and badges on the Wayfinder "Overview" page, and perform deposits and withdrawals after the staking period ends.
