ChainCatcher reports that the message transmission protocol XMTP has launched its testnet with the support of Coinbase Wallet, Circle, ENS, Alchemy, a16z crypto, Mask Network, and Faction.
The official statement says that the testnet application will automatically distribute micro-fees paid in USDC to node operators; messages are delivered across the off-chain broadcast network in milliseconds; and Arbitrum Orbit on Base maintains consensus on critical state.
