PANews, February 11 news, artificial intelligence company Anthropic announced the launch of the Anthropic Economic Index, aimed at tracking the long-term impact of AI on the economy. The first report analyzed millions of anonymous Claude conversations, revealing the use of AI in various job tasks.
The study found:
• Software development and technical writing are the areas with the highest use of AI, while agriculture, fishing and forestry have the lowest AI usage rates.
• Only 4% of occupations use AI in at least 75% of their tasks, but 36% of occupations use AI in at least 25% of their tasks, indicating that AI is more inclined to assist with specific tasks rather than completely replace jobs.
• Middle-income and high-income occupations have higher AI usage rates, while low-income and extremely high-income occupations use AI less.
• AI is used for augmentation in 57% of cases and for automation in 43% of cases, indicating that AI is more often used as a collaborative tool rather than a complete replacement for the workforce.
TRON plans to continuously update this index and open the relevant data, inviting economists and policy experts to jointly study the long-term impact of AI on the job market.
