A New Era of Staking Rewards
Unlike previous launch methods that overly favored insiders in staking rewards, $IP staking follows the principle of a fair launch.
The Foundation or early contributors will not receive staking rewards in advance, and no one can receive staking rewards before the community.
The Story network is still in the singularity period, which is expected to last about 42 days after the Genesis Block (Block 0) on January 19. All users are welcome to participate in staking or delegated staking - please note that during this period, no staking rewards will be generated, but it provides an opportunity for everyone to decide whether to stake.
As the Big Bang Block appears, staking rewards will officially begin. 1.9477989871 $IP will be distributed per Block, and at a block time of 3 seconds, approximately 55,555 $IP will be distributed per day.
Time-Weighted Staking Model
Staking is the foundation of the security and sustainability of any Proof-of-Stake blockchain. A well-designed staking mechanism not only ensures network security, but also incentivizes appropriate participants to make long-term commitments, ensuring that economic incentives are aligned with network security and mission.
Story's time-weighted staking model encourages long-term supporters. The longer the staking period, the higher the rewards, thereby promoting network stability and realizing the network's vision.
Assuming a user chooses to stake 2,000 $IP for 90 days, they will ultimately receive rewards equivalent to staking 2,200 $IP. Even if the user extends the staking period after the initial 90 days, the reward bonus will still be effective.
To further enhance network security, locked tokens can also be staked. However, we believe that locked tokens should be treated differently from unlocked tokens, with a lower reward bonus of 0.5x. Furthermore, these rewards will be locked for at least 6 months to ensure the community is prioritized.
