Doodles, one of the leading NFT brands, has just announced the plan to launch its native token called DOOD on the Solana network. This is an important step to expand the project's ecosystem, enhance community engagement, and strengthen the utility of Doodles in the Web3 space.
The total supply of DOOD is 10 billion tokens, distributed as follows:
- 30% allocated to the Doodles community, which may include Airdrop for NFT holders and other incentive programs.
- 25% allocated to the ecosystem fund, supporting product development, partnerships, and new Doodles initiatives.
- 17% belongs to the development team, ensuring the long-term commitment of key contributors.
- 13% reserved for "new contributors", which could be creators, artists, or developers joining the ecosystem.
- 10% added to Liquidity, ensuring stable trading conditions for the DOOD Token.
- 5% belongs to the Doodles company, which may be used for business expansion strategies.
In addition to the Solana deployment, Doodles also plans to list DOOD on the Layer 2 Base platform, which is backed by Coinbase. This is an important step to increase the token's interoperability across different blockchain ecosystems.
Doodles' DOOD launch comes at a time when more leading NFT brands are introducing their own tokens. In December 2024, Pudgy Penguins released PENGU on Solana with a total supply of 88.88 billion tokens. The success of PENGU may have motivated Doodles to enter the tokenization market.
Doodles started as an NFT project with a collection of 10,000 curated artworks, but has since expanded significantly into areas such as animation, music, and even a collaboration with McDonald's.
