Lens Chain will integrate GHO - Aave's stablecoin - as the gas token of the network.
Choosing @GHO as the gas token is strategic and functional.

Decentralized stablecoins like GHO offer transparency and predictable value.
GHO's decentralized nature enhances Lens Chain's resiliency.
GHO is a decentralized stablecoin, over-collateralized and pegged to the US dollar, providing stability for transactions on Lens Chain. Choosing GHO as the gas token helps users easily calculate and predict transaction fees without worrying about price volatility.
GHO will be integrated through ZKsync's shared bridge, creating a strong liquidity pool, making it easy and convenient to mint GHO on layer-2.
Lens Chain is a Validium blockchain under development, aiming to serve as the infrastructure platform for the decentralized social media Lens Protocol, where users can control their data and interactions. Developed by the Aave team, Lens Chain utilizes ZKsync technology, leveraging Avail to ensure efficient and secure data storage.
Lens Chain is still in development and has plans for a mainnet launch in the near future, which they had previously planned for Q4 last year.
Lens Protocol is not only a blockchain but also a piece of the SocialFi (Social + DeFi) ecosystem, where users can share and interact through secured data and content, not controlled by any third party. Since last year, Lens has reduced the ownership fee for Lens Profile to only 8 MATIC to allow everyone to experience the protocol.
Lens Protocol has raised a total of $46 million from funding rounds. The funding round led by Lightspeed Faction in December 2024 alone attracted $31 million. The project's ambition is to achieve a valuation of $500 million.
With advanced technology and backing from major investors, Lens Chain is striving to become a key platform in the SocialFi segment.
