PANews reported on February 18 that according to TechCrunch, following the release of Grok 3, the latest AI model by Elon Musk's AI company xAI, the X platform has significantly increased the price of its Premium+ subscription plan. This plan allows users to access the Grok 3 model, and the monthly subscription fee has now risen to nearly $50.
According to X's support page, the monthly fee for the US Premium+ plan has been updated to $50, and the annual fee is $350. This is the second price hike by X in the past few months, as the Premium+ monthly fee had previously increased from $16 to $22 in December last year. Based on these new prices, Premium+ subscribers will pay more than double the current fee.
Additionally, xAI has placed some Grok 3 features in a separate SuperGrok plan, which is available through the Grok app. As a result, features like "deep search" and "reasoning" are now only accessible to Premium+ users.
It's worth noting that X's pricing is not consistent. When the reporter tried to subscribe to Premium+, X displayed a monthly charge of $39.83 (annual fee of $477.95), but the final checkout page showed an annual fee of $395. Although X's support page shows a monthly fee of $50, the registration page lists a price of $48.40, and the checkout page displays a monthly charge of $40.
