On February 18, a few hours after Musk's AI company xAI released the latest version of its AI model Grok 3, X significantly increased the price of its top-tier Premium+ subscription plan, which provides users with access to the latest model, with the price reaching nearly $50 per month.
On the support page listing X's advanced subscription plans, the monthly subscription price for the US Premium+ plan has been updated to $50, and the annual price is $350. This is the second time X has raised the price of the Premium+ plan in the past few months. In December 2024, the company increased the subscription fee from $16 per month to $22.
Calculated at the current price, the new plan's fee will be more than double the amount Premium+ users are currently paying. xAI has placed some of Grok 3's features in a separate SuperGrok plan, which users can access through the Grok application.
As a result, only features like "deep search" and "reasoning" will be available to Premium+ plan users. It's worth noting that X's pricing is inconsistent: when attempting to sign up for the Premium+ plan, X displays a monthly fee of $39.83 ($477.95 annually), but the final checkout page shows an annual fee of $395.
