Odaily reported that Bybit on X platform announced that through coordinated efforts, they successfully froze $42.89 million in stolen funds within one day. The assisting institutions include Tether, THORChain, ChangeNOW, FixedFloat, Avalanche Ecosystem, CoinEx, Bitget, and Circle.

Odaily reported that according to data released by Spot On Chain, Bybit raised 254,830 ETH (USD 693 million) within 48 hours after the hack, including: 132,178 ETH (USD 367 million) possibly obtained through OTC trades with Galaxy Digital, FalconX, and Wintermute; and 122,652 ETH (USD 326 million) borrowed from trading platforms/institutions such as Bitget, MEXC, Binance, and DWF Labs (which could also be personal borrowing by some whales). Meanwhile, the hacker has cross-chained 40,944 ETH (USD 115 million) to BTC and other assets through Chainflip, THORChain, LiFi, DLN, and eXch. Currently, the hacker still holds 458,451 ETH (USD 1.29 billion), accounting for 91.7% of the 499,395 ETH (USD 1.4 billion) stolen.

Bybit raised 254,830 ETH in 48 hours after hack

Odaily reported that the Bybit exchange was hacked, losing over $140 million in liquid staked ETH, mETH, and other ERC-20 tokens. However, according to CryptoQuant data, Bybit replenished its ETH reserves to nearly 50% of the pre-hack level within two days. Lookonchain monitoring shows that Bybit may have purchased a total of 106,498 ETH ($295 million) through OTC in the past 24 hours. (Cointelegraph)

Odaily reports that Bybit posted on platform X, stating that as part of the investigation and recovery efforts, Bybit promises to allocate 10% of the recovered funds as a reward for the ethical network and cybersecurity experts who actively assist in recovering the stolen cryptocurrencies.
