Odaily reported that Bybit co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou released a hacker forensics report provided by Sygnia and Verichains on platform X, which revealed that malicious code was deployed at UTC 15:29:25 on February 19, specifically targeting Bybit's Ethereum multi-signature cold wallet.

Odaily reports that according to Spot On Chian monitoring, the Bybit hacker has completed a money laundering activity of 100,000 ETH (about $250 million) in the past 4 days. They have already cleaned up 20% of the stolen 499,000 ETH, dividing the funds into small amounts across multiple addresses, and using THORChain for cross-chain swaps to convert to BTC, DAI, and other assets. The Bybit hacker still holds 399,000 ETH, more than Vitalik Buterin or the Ethereum Foundation.
