Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin responded on Twitter to a member of a cybersecurity company who claimed to be an ordinary girl, @alpeh_v, who asked:
"It's a shame to hear so many ETH OGs say they've never heard of me, but here's a brief introduction for them: I'm an ordinary girl who likes to play with her online friends."
Vitalik responded: "Ethereum needs many young people with a cypherpunk vision. All the OGs are tired of it. It's now in the hands of the next generation."
Vitalik's vision of new blood can be seen as an indirect response to the community's dissatisfaction, acknowledging the current sense of loss and trying to evoke new hope. But whether this can substantially change the foundation's predicament, or is just a personal expression of Vitalik's ideals, remains to be seen in the subsequent implementation and community feedback. His post at least resonates spiritually with the critics' pursuit of "returning to the essence", but whether it can be implemented remains an open question.
