On March 7, the Texas State Senate passed the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Act SB 21 with a vote of 25 in favor and 5 against.
Subsequently, SB 21 needs to be submitted to the Texas House of Representatives, where the bill will be assigned to the relevant committee for review, amendment, and a public hearing.
If the House amends SB 21, the Senate must agree to these amendments, otherwise the two chambers need to coordinate through a conference committee to produce a final version. The final version agreed upon by both chambers will need to be voted on again separately.
After passing the House and Senate, the bill will be sent to the Governor of Texas for signing. The Governor can choose to sign the bill into law.
