According to data from CMC, of the top 100 tokens by market cap, only 17 tokens have seen gains of over 90% in the past 90 days, including BERA (+499%), IP (+81%), and BGB (+78%), while BTC has seen a -15% performance during the same period.
The Altcoin Season Index, a new metric introduced by CoinMarketCap to measure the altcoin market sentiment, tracks how many of the top 100 assets are outperforming BTC. If the value is around 75, the market is more likely in an Altcoin Season, while if it's below 25, it's likely in a Bitcoin Season. The index has been below 25 for the past 12 consecutive days starting from February 27.
