This week's (March 24-30, 2025) must-not-miss Web3 events are previewed below:
Monday (March 24): US Bitcoin miner CleanSpark will join the S&P SmallCap 600 Index before market opening, which includes small US listed companies with market capitalization over $1 billion meeting specific financial criteria. CleanSpark is the second crypto miner added to this index after Marathon Digital was included last year.
Nillion token NIL spot trading will begin at 21:00 on March 24.
Tuesday (March 25): Taproot Wizards' Bitcoin Ordinals collection will start sales on March 25, featuring 2121 Wizard Non-Fungible Tokens inspired by the Bitcoin wizard meme from Reddit in 2013. The sale will be in two phases: first, Wizard Non-Fungible Tokens will be sold to whitelisted participants at 0.2 BTC, followed by a public Dutch auction with a starting price above 0.2 BTC.
Wednesday (March 26): Ethereum plans to conduct the Pectra upgrade on the newly launched Hoodi testnet on March 26. Ethereum developers will determine the Pectra upgrade plan based on the Hoodi upgrade and further testing of Pectra features.
Thursday (March 27): Morph will launch Morph Pay Non-Fungible Token covering Morph Black Card benefits. The limited Morph Pay Non-Fungible Token sale will officially start on March 27, with Morph Black Card and its benefits obtainable through limited Non-Fungible Tokens.
Decentralized storage protocol Walrus will launch its mainnet on March 27 and introduce token WAL. The token distribution is as follows: 10% airdropped to early adopters and reserved for future distribution; 43% allocated to community reserves for grants, development support, incentive programs, and ecosystem initiatives; 30% given to early builders; 10% subsidized to storage nodes; 7% allocated to investors.
Friday (March 28): Approximately 182 million Velo tokens (VELO) worth about $2.4 million, representing 2.47% of circulation, will be unlocked at 08:00 on March 28.
Saturday (March 29): Zhejiang University Blockchain Association will host an offline event, ETH Hangzhou Hackathon, from March 29 to 31 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.
Sunday (March 30): Southeast Asia Blockchain Week 2025 will be held from March 30 to April 5 in Bangkok, Thailand.
