On March 26, according to Business Insider, the price of XBT.com at Lloyds Auctions has exceeded $3 million, expected to be the largest crypto domain name auction since 2021.
Lee Hames, Chief Operating Officer of Lloyds Auctions, stated: "This is not just a domain name, but the financial future and identity of Bitcoin itself. Whoever wins XBT.com will own the greatest domain name in a decade and a share of Bitcoin's future, which is a digital asset with immense historical and financial significance."
It is reported that the starting price of XBT.com is $2,798,917, and this auction will end on March 28.
BlockBeats Note: XBT is the code for Bitcoin under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO 4217) naming rules. According to these rules, the first two digits of the currency code represent the country/region (such as "CN" in CNY for China), and since Bitcoin is decentralized with no national affiliation, it uses an "X" prefix ("X" typically represents non-national currencies, like XAU for gold).
