Hu Run Research Institute today released the 2025 Hu Run Global Rich List, with 163 new billionaire entrepreneurs globally, reaching a historic high of 3,442 people. The United States has the most, with 870 billionaire entrepreneurs, an increase of 70 from last year. China ranks second with 823, an increase of 9, and India ranks third with 284 billionaire entrepreneurs, an increase of 13.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk became the world's richest person for the fourth time in five years, with a wealth of 3.07 trillion yuan, a surge of 82%, benefiting from Tesla's stock price rise after former US President Trump's election.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ranked second globally with 1.94 trillion yuan, a wealth increase of 44%. With Meta's investment returns in AI, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg ranked in the top three for the first time with a wealth of 1.77 trillion yuan, growing 53%.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's wealth nearly doubled to 935 billion yuan, ranking 11th globally. Trump became the wealthiest US president in history, with his wealth almost doubling to 52.5 billion yuan, entering the top 500 of the Hu Run Global Rich List, thanks to his 53% stake in Truth Social.
ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming replaced "Bottled Water King" Zong Qinghou as China's richest person, benefiting from ByteDance's valuation rise due to AI business momentum and prospects. Zhang Yiming's wealth reached 435 billion yuan, a sharp increase of 76%.
In terms of industries, entrepreneurs in AI, asset management, entertainment, and cryptocurrency performed well, while those in luxury goods, telecommunications, and agriculture underperformed. Financial services are the main source of wealth for billionaire entrepreneurs, with one-tenth working in the financial services industry, followed by consumer goods and healthcare.
CZ Remains Cryptocurrency Billionaire
Notably, Bitcoin breaking the $100,000 mark benefited top cryptocurrency founders. Binance founder CZ's wealth grew to 160 billion yuan, still the richest in the cryptocurrency field.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong's wealth grew 72% to 80 billion yuan. Bitcoin holders also saw significant wealth increases. MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor's wealth nearly tripled to 65 billion yuan, while Gemini co-founders Winklevoss twins' wealth nearly doubled to 28 billion yuan.
On average, wealth in the cryptocurrency field increased by 80% annually.
