
PANews reported on April 3rd that the U.S. House Financial Services Committee passed the "Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act" (H.R. 1919) with 27 votes in favor and 22 votes against. The bill, proposed by House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, aims to prohibit the Federal Reserve from issuing a central bank digital currency (CBDC) and prevent it from directly providing financial services to individuals or using CBDC to implement monetary policy.
