Chainalysis has long been preparing for the widespread use of AI, while making other blockchain-specific bets like the increasing number of layer 2s, rollups, and the growth of other layer 1 networks like Solana.
Product discussions at Links NYC 2025 centered around these themes, and how Chainalysis is now equipping customers to mitigate the consequences of blockchain-based and AI-related crimes:
- Growth in AI-driven scams: In the last year, we witnessed an estimated $12.5 billion in cryptocurrency going to scams, driven heavily by the growth of generative AI.
- Hacks are on the rise, with more on the line: The ByBit hack this year alone resulted in approximately $1.5 billion in losses, positioning 2025 to far surpass last year’s stolen funds totals, which stood at $2.2 billion.
- Investigative complexity with increased use of bridges for cross-chain activity: Cases are becoming more complex, as illicit actors develop more sophisticated means of money laundering by obfuscating funds through use of cross-chain swaps, mixers, and more.
Regulatory environments also continue to evolve, bringing broader crypto adoption and changes in how traditional financial institutions engage with crypto. In response to these and many other ecosystem trends, Chainalysis is proud to upgrade our portfolio to not only enhance investigations and compliance offerings, but also to introduce new capabilities to prevent crime. These innovations center primarily around two themes:
- Simpler, faster, smarter blockchain investigations
More easily and efficiently following illicit activity in real time with major improvements to our existing investigations and suite of compliance products. - A focus on prevention
Identifying and preventing bad actors before they strike by detecting indicators of illicit activity (e.g., lookalike domains, fake identities and social media profiles, unusual transaction patterns, suspicious contracts, and more) via the recent acquisitions of Alterya and Hexagate.

Product enhancements that expedite and simplify investigation and compliance operations
- The next generation of Reactor has lightning-fast performance, unmatched flexibility, and instant clarity. It simplifies complex interactions with new design visualizations, making it even easier to follow the money on-chain and share the story of an investigation.
Reactor’s latest release offers:
- Speed and the ability to manipulate extremely large graphs with ease
- One place to view transactions across all assets
- A way to isolate individual transactions
- Custom off-chain objects
- Auto graph layout

- We also introduced Rapid, the first AI-powered crypto triage tool built for law enforcement. Rapid provides instant AI-driven insights that don’t require crypto expertise to interpret, offering clear explanations and next steps for swift action.

- Additionally, a new Compliance Dashboard helps compliance teams understand patterns behind their alerts, where alerts are originating, and fine-tune policies and risk rules for better operational efficacy.
Incorporating crime prevention into the Chainalysis product suite
- Chainalysis Data Solutions (DS), the newest product in the Chainalysis portfolio and first of its kind, is a customizable data platform designed for proactive threat intelligence and workflow automation. With the ability to create advanced visualizations and automate analytical workflows at scale, customers can gain a deep understanding of specific threat categories and threat actors of interest. Chainalysis DS helps customers tackle big problems by understanding illicit activity and patterns at scale, monitor for specific types of activity, prioritize leads, and zero in on the highest impact cases.
- Alterya made its debut at Links — the proactive fraud detection service leverages AI to identify scammers before they can target victims, protecting over 100 million customers and monitoring more than $8 billion in transactions per month. Alterya isolates scammers amid massive datasets, helping customers avoid sending funds to scams and institutions disrupt money mule activity.
- Hexagate, a new core pillar of Chainalysis’ product offering for prevention, uses machine learning to protect against on-chain threats in real time. Hexagate ensures web3 security for protocols, blockchains, asset managers, and exchanges, which have used Hexagate to protect over $50 billion in funds. At Links, we unveiled transaction signature workflow features that will support customers with wallet security.

The innovations unveiled at Links NYC 2025 demonstrate the Chainalysis commitment to expanding our product offerings to meet the crypto ecosystem’s evolving needs. From real-time prevention of fraud and hacks through Alterya and Hexagate; to the capability to customize and automate alerts with Chainalysis DS; to enabling faster, simpler, and smarter investigations; these additions and enhancements are positioning our customers to tackle on-chain illicit activity comprehensively.
