Ubisoft Collaborates with Immutable to Develop Blockchain-Integrated Strategic Card Game "Might and Magic: Destiny"
On April 23rd, according to Decrypt, gaming giant Ubisoft has officially partnered with Immutable – a leading blockchain gaming platform – to develop a strategic card game called "Might and Magic: Destiny", based on the classic "Might and Magic" game series.
Expected to launch this year on both iOS and Android, "Might and Magic: Destiny" will be a free-to-play game where players can collect and trade hundreds of special cards, each belonging to different factions with unique combat mechanisms, providing a diverse strategic and in-depth tactical experience.
A notable highlight is that the game will apply blockchain technology, helping to enhance player experience through digital asset ownership and transparent, secure transaction capabilities. Immutable will serve as the technology solution provider, particularly with the zkEVM (Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine) platform – one of the most advanced blockchain technologies today, enabling fast transaction processing, low costs while ensuring security and decentralization.
Nicolas Pouard, Vice President of Strategic Innovation Lab at Ubisoft, shared that this new game not only preserves the familiar strategic spirit of the original game series but also expands the boundaries of traditional gaming through innovative elements from blockchain technology. This is seen as a strategic step by Ubisoft in exploring the Web3 gaming field and bringing unique interactive experiences to the global gaming community.
