Nexon's blockchain game project 'MapleStory Universe' has unveiled the tokenomics of its self-issued token NXPC. They allocated 80% of the total issuance to community rewards and minimized the team's allocation to less than 1% to secure user trust.
According to the industry on the 23rd, MapleStory Universe announced on the 18th that out of the total issuance of 1 billion tokens, 800 million tokens were allocated to community contribution rewards. The remaining 200 million tokens are distributed as △initial community rewards (16.317%) △IP provider rewards (2%) △team rewards (0.696%) △liquidity provision (0.437%) △advisor rewards (0.4%) △transaction fee support (0.15%). The whitepaper is a guide that explains the overall tokenomics, including the issuance structure, usage, and distribution method of the virtual asset before the project's launch. This whitepaper marks the first disclosure of NXPC's token allocation structure.

NXPC applied a reduction structure that decreases reward amounts at regular intervals. The purpose is to reduce market impact by controlling the supply speed. This is similar to Bitcoin's (BTC) halving structure, where the issuance is reduced by half approximately every 4 years.
Investors have been giving positive assessments to the community-centered token distribution structure. WEMIX, a representative domestic blockchain game, allocated only 10% of the total issuance to community rewards in its whitepaper. NXPC has allocated 8 times more volume, clearly demonstrating its strategy of making ecosystem participation the key driving force.
The industry views this as a design that is conscious of past cases where trust was lost due to opaque token issuance structures. WEMIX held a large volume of tokens under the pretext of ecosystem investment and then sold without warning, drawing investor criticism. In this process, confusion arose in interpreting the actual circulating volume, and WEMIX was ultimately delisted from the top 5 domestic exchanges. This was an incident that led to widespread distrust in the domestic blockchain game market.
A domestic blockchain game industry official said, "It appears they have focused on tokenomics to restore trust in the recently contracted domestic blockchain game market" and "In a situation where the industry is struggling to find a breakthrough, attention is focused on the success of Nexon's blockchain project".
