On April 27, according to Cointelegraph, US Senator Jon Ossoff stated at a town hall meeting on April 25 that he supports impeaching President Trump, citing Trump's plan to host a private dinner for large MEME coin TRUMP holders.
According to NBC News, Jon Ossoff said: "48 hours ago, I saw that he was arranging private meetings for those who bought TRUMP. When a sitting US president sells access opportunities in this form, essentially accepting direct payment, this undoubtedly meets the standard for impeachment."
Jon Ossoff made this statement at a town hall meeting in Georgia, where he is running for re-election to the US House of Representatives. He added that the possibility of impeachment is small unless the Democratic Party wins control of the House in the 2026 US midterm elections. Currently, Trump's Republican Party holds a majority in both the House and Senate.
