What is ai16z (ElizaOS)?
ai16z (now officially renamed to elizaOS) is a The DAO operated by AI Agent on the Solana blockchain.
The project combines AI Agent to automate the Venture Capital investment process, with the goal of surpassing traditional VC funds like Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).
The name ai16z was initially a wordplay from a16z, while the platform's investment management AI is called Marc AIndreessen – an AI version inspired by a16z co-founder, Marc Andreessen.
By May 2025, the project officially rebranded to elizaOS – an Operating System for AI Agents – and expanded its vision from a Venture Capital fund to a multi-industry AI agent platform.
