PANews reports on April 29 that according to the Sonic Labs announcement, Sonic will suspend bridging USDC.e starting from May 6, and then upgrade to native USDC and integrate CCTP V2, with the entire process expected to take about a week. After the upgrade, users do not need to take any action, and USDC.e will automatically be converted to native USDC, supporting faster and safer cross-chain transfers, and accessing chains such as Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, and Linea. The original USDC contract address remains unchanged, with only the name updated to USDC.
