The Pectra upgrade from @Ethereum is officially in motion on @Arbitrum — and it’s a major leap forward in efficiency and scalability.
Let’s look at some notable EIPs in Pectra that will have the biggest impact for builders 🧵👇 twitter.com/102933082294234726...
EIP-7702: Smart Wallets
Account abstraction lets regular wallets (EOAs) do more — like bundling multiple actions into one transaction and sponsoring gas fees for users.
This means smoother experiences, fewer errors, and a big boost for rollup adoption.
EIP-7691: Increased blobs, lower gas fees
This upgrade increases the number of blobs per block (from 3→6 target, 6→9 max).
The result? Cheaper, faster L2 transactions, more stable fees, and improved bandwidth efficiency for validators.
EIP-2537: BLS Signatures Onchain
This EIP adds a precompile to support BLS12-381 signature verification — enabling faster and cheaper BLS signatures and ZK proofs.
This results in lower gas costs for rollups, bridges, and privacy apps.
EIP-2935: Extended Block History
This EIP extends stateless execution and boosts data availability to 8,191 blocks, making it easier for developers to access and simulate past block data — a big win for rollups and cross-chain apps needing trustless access.
Pectra is one of Ethereum’s most impactful upgrades yet — especially for builders.
