Nvidia CEO: DeepSeek drives explosive growth in AI computing demand

Models such as OpenAI's o3, DeepSeek R1, and xAI's Grok 3 demonstrate how artificial intelligence is shifting from perception and generation models to long-term reasoning models that require significantly enhanced computational capabilities. These models can solve complex problems, make strategic decisions, and apply logical reasoning, but the computational requirements for each task are 100 times that of traditional inference-based AI. Huang said: "The scale of post-training and model customization is enormous, and the computational requirements may be several orders of magnitude higher than before training. Driven by test time scaling and new inference models, our inference demand is accelerating."
