Solana Mobile, a subsidiary of Solana Labs, has just announced a new decentralized architecture called TEEPIN and plans to launch the native Token SKR, while also confirming that the second-generation crypto phone "Seeker" will be delivered on 8/4.
TEEPIN (Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network) is a three-layer system that helps expand the Web3 ecosystem of Solana Mobile to more device manufacturers, while ensuring safe and intermediary-free mobile access for users, developers, and hardware manufacturers.
Solana Labs CEO, Anatoly Yakovenko, said: "TEEPIN is a new step for mobile – a model where trust does not come from a control center but is verified by cryptography. We are leveraging the security hardware available on current smartphones and managing access rights through blockchain to promote open innovation, platform ownership, and a decentralized future for mobile devices."
The SKR Token will play a role in operating the ecosystem, motivating users and developers, and will be distributed directly to the community.
Solana Mobile's Executive Director, Emmett Hollyer, said: "Redistributing benefits and ownership is key to building a truly decentralized and sustainable mobile ecosystem. Instead of being passive users in a closed system, people will become co-owners and creators of this platform."
Previously called "Chapter Two" during its soft launch in January, the successor to the affordable Solana Saga is now officially named Seeker. Solana Mobile stated that the new phone model has received over 150,000 pre-orders from users in 57 countries, with an early user discount price of 500 USD.
Seeker is equipped with a hardware Seed Vault to secure personal keys, Genesis Token, along with new features such as the Seed Vault Wallet, Seeker ID, and an upgraded Solana dApp Store with a smoother on-chain experience.
