BNB Network Upgrade: Reducing Block Time and Protocol Optimization
On May 22, according to the official announcement from BNB Chain, BNB Smart Chain (BSC) will reduce block creation time from 1.5 seconds to 0.75 seconds. This upgrade will be implemented on the mainnet on June 30 through the Maxwell Hard Fork.
Core Improvements:
Three fundamental improvements include BEP-524 establishing new block time standards, BEP-563 optimizing communication protocol between validator nodes, and BEP-564 adding a new block synchronization mechanism.
Technical Adjustments:
The validation cycle will increase from an Epoch of 500 to 1,000. Validator node rotation time remains 12 seconds for 16 new blocks. The testnet will be upgraded earlier on May 26.
Deployment Conditions:
Five important standards need to be met: node synchronization stability, no increase in reorganization rate. Ensuring perfect preparation before mainnet deployment.
