Immutable laid off a third of its employees in the past nine months and turned to AI to complete some work

Mars Finance News: On May 23, Immutable, an Australian blockchain gaming company supported by Temasek, has reduced its workforce by one-third over the past nine months, with employee numbers decreasing from 224 in 2023 to around 150. The company confirmed that some positions in business, engineering, product, and marketing teams are now supported by AI, particularly in design and content creation. Despite a loss of $50 million in 2023 due to increased employee costs and a decline in crypto assets, the company reported a 55% revenue growth in 2024, reaching $67 million. The company expects to break even in cash flow by the end of 2025.
