The Shiba Inu symbol of Dogecoin is once again in the spotlight. This meme-inspired cryptocurrency will be prominently displayed on Devlin DeFrancesco's IndyCar at the Indianapolis 500, one of the most closely watched motorsport events in the US.
This initiative is supported by a collaboration between Dogecoin Foundation, House of Doge, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, and the driver himself.
Dogecoin Returns to the Race Track with a Charitable Campaign
In the weeks leading up to the race, Dogecoin supporters chose the final design for the car through a community vote, selecting from three DOGE-themed designs.
The winning design, named Blaze, will be prominently displayed on both the car and the driver's helmet.

According to the cryptocurrency-based prediction market Polymarket, his winning odds this year are under 1%.
However, the real appeal of the campaign may come from beyond the racetrack.
A fundraising initiative related to Dogecoin's sponsorship has raised 117,947 DOGE, equivalent to approximately $26,000, for Riley Children's Foundation.
This organization supports Riley Children's Health, one of the leading neonatal centers in the United States.
NFL Pro Bowler Dion Dawkins contributed to this momentum with a donation of 8,000 DOGE from a self-managed wallet created during the race weekend.
The donations will support special care treatment for infants with complex medical conditions.
After the race, DeFrancesco plans to auction his Dogecoin-themed helmet, with the proceeds also being donated to Riley Children's Hospital.
Notably, this driver spent four months in an incubator at Sunnybrook Hospital in downtown Toronto.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time Dogecoin has sponsored motorsports. The cryptocurrency community previously sponsored a NASCAR car in 2014 and supported another event in 2021.
Now, its presence at Indy 500 marks a new effort to combine cryptocurrency enthusiasm with tangible impact.
Essentially, this Dogecoin campaign highlights the increasing presence of cryptocurrency in professional sports.
Last year, Polkadot appeared on Conor Daly's IndyCar, and several major teams in various leagues have already accepted payments and sponsorships in cryptocurrency.
