On May 26, according to Kyodo News, the Japanese government plans to use 900 billion yen (approximately $6.3 billion) in national funds to implement an emergency relief plan to mitigate the impact of U.S. tariffs.
Kyodo News reported that to fund a comprehensive package including reducing utility costs and providing financial assistance to small businesses, the government plans to use budget reserves (to be decided as early as Tuesday) and existing budgets.
