OKX Global General Counsel Melissa Muehlfeld resigns, and the legal and compliance team continues to reorganize

Odaily Planet News: OKX's global general counsel Melissa Muehlfeld has officially resigned. She joined OKX's US subsidiary OKcoin in May 2022 as deputy general counsel and was promoted to global general counsel in August 2024. This marks another development in OKX's recent reorganization of its legal and compliance team. In February this year, after reaching a settlement with the US Department of Justice (DoJ) and paying $500 million, OKX has successively replaced several executives, including former chief legal officer Mauricio Beugelmans and compliance head Vanessa Zhang. Currently, the position has been taken over by Linda Lacewell, former head of the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). Sources revealed that Lacewell is restructuring OKX's legal and compliance architecture. OKX has not commented on individual personnel changes, and Muehlfeld has not responded to requests for comment. (CoinDesk)
