Overnight geopolitical turmoil arose, and BTC significantly retraced to around 104k. Gold has again challenged a new high. Who is the safe-haven asset seems quite clear. BTC still has a long way to go to challenge gold's safe-haven status.
In a market of unpredictable changes, if one's nerves are too sensitive, one cannot relax for a moment. When nothing happens, one feels bored and anxious; when something occurs, one becomes nervous and excited. What is most lacking is a leisurely and relaxed state of true physical and mental relaxation.
However, constantly maintaining tension, or even excessive tension, is actually very detrimental to acting calmly, accurately, and powerfully at critical moments. Not only will movements become distorted, but one is also likely to injure oneself.
Yesterday while playing badminton, I deeply experienced this principle: relaxation enables better force. Only by maintaining overall relaxation from body to arm can one exert force better when hitting the ball.
In the first two games, my legs and shoulder muscles were quite tense, causing two problems: first, reduced agility and inability to move in place, and second, shoulder exertion where full effort still couldn't hit far, leaving noticeable shoulder pain after playing, as if overstretched.
From the third game, I realized this issue and deliberately used self-suggestion, maintaining body relaxation between waiting and hitting, especially relaxing the entire force chain from legs to waist to right shoulder and finally to right arm. This allowed better force through instant finger grip and wrist force, concentrating power at the chain's end, thus achieving explosive power at the hitting point, hitting the ball farther and with better control.
Many badminton players know the concept of "whipping" in force application. It means the core force chain should be like cracking a whip, with force transmitted from one end through the soft whip to its tip, quickly cutting through the air with crisp "snap" sounds. In badminton, this translates to transmitting rear leg ground force and waist rotation through a soft arm to the wrist, combined with wrist rotation, forming a rapid racket strike.
Once mentally suggested, the body begins to relax and exert force, becoming increasingly effortless.
In the afternoon, I shared this insight about relaxed force with my child. The child happily said that the heart's working method is also like this, with rest time always longer than working time. I thought the child's understanding was quite apt.
This led me to wonder why domestic internet giants implementing the 996 work system often decline after a few glorious years. Their lifespan might not match the human heart's. The human heart can typically work continuously for 80-90 or even over 100 years without any repair or replacement. How many of these once-glorious companies will still exist after 100 years?
I think perhaps for countless reasons, the most fundamental reason is they simply don't want to relax and rest. If they were willing to generally implement an 8-hour workday, like the line in "Awakening Age" says, "8 hours of work, 8 hours of rest, another 8 hours for ourselves," business development might be slightly slower, but perhaps their lifespan would be more enduring.
Unceasing entrepreneurial spirit is like cancer cells in the body, poisoning, spreading, and metastasizing in corporate values, deriving various opportunism, short-sightedness, KPI-worship, and internal strife. An enterprise as an organization is actually a dissipative structure similar to a living body. Once cancerous and entering late stages, even surgical intervention or radical treatments become futile. When healthy tissue is deeply invaded by cancer cells, aggressive treatments might kill normal tissue instead of tumors. At this point, the cancerous enterprise falls into the classic paradox of "treatment is suicide, no treatment is waiting to die".
Returning to investment, the same principle applies. If your positions make you sleepless, tense, and anxious, or you're constantly laboring painfully, something is definitely wrong. Be sure to wake up immediately, stop, and avoid going deeper.
Good investment should be simple. Enjoyable meals, sound sleep, and the ability to laugh.
Most of the time, you shouldn't worry too much about investment positions; just let them be. The only thing you need to do is remain relaxed. Stay physically healthy and in good spirits.
Conversely, investment positions that prevent you from relaxing are problematic. They are likely harmful tumor cells. It's best to cut them off in time to prevent progression to a late stage, complete spread, and becoming an incurable condition.
Good investment should be relaxed.
The more relaxed, the more successful.
