On June 24, Aptos Labs collaborated with Jump Crypto to officially launch Shelby, a high-performance, decentralized hot storage network designed for Web3 real-time applications, covering scenarios such as streaming media, AI data, social platforms, and DePIN.
Shelby achieves read and write speeds and reliability comparable to cloud services through global high-performance nodes, fiber backbone, and on-chain programmable architecture, breaking through the centralization and performance bottlenecks of traditional Web2 services, and possessing capabilities such as sub-second response, pay-as-you-go, Token gating, DRM, smart contract permission control, and dynamic pricing.
Projects like Metaplex, Story Protocol, and Pipe Network will be the first to access it, and NBCUniversal also plans to adopt Shelby in streaming media scenarios, further validating its potential for cross-chain real-time infrastructure.
The Shelby Devnet is expected to go online in the fourth quarter of 2025 and will support multi-chain ecosystems including Aptos, Ethereum, and Solana.
