Messari researcher: BTC L2 has three major opportunities, more Ethereum L2 may "abandon ship" and turn to Bitcoin

Messari researcher AJC believes there are three reasons why Bitcoin Layer2 has opportunities: The Bitcoin network itself cannot provide smart contract functionality or other features that L2 provides, which is different from Ethereum; there are no deeply entrenched existing leaders in the Bitcoin ecosystem to bridge BTC as an adoption metric, with no single network holding more than about 30% of the total supply, and most networks holding far less than 10%, making it easy for new entrants to compete; BTC has the strongest economic foundation as a crypto asset. As StarkNet has already begun to shift towards Bitcoin, AJC expects more Ethereum Layer2 will "jump ship" and move towards the Bitcoin ecosystem.
