On July 14, according to CoinDesk, Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous founder of Bitcoin, has now become one of the wealthiest individuals (or groups) in the world—all achieved without spending a single penny or revealing any personal identity information.
As Bitcoin broke through $122,000 this Monday, Satoshi Nakamoto's approximately 1.1 million BTC are now valued at over $134 billion (calculated based on publicly available blockchain data).
This places Satoshi Nakamoto near the top ten of the global billionaires list, surpassing Michael Dell, CEO of Dell Computers, and Walmart heir Rob Walton, and drawing closer to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and legendary investor Warren Buffett—according to Forbes' real-time billionaire list.
Satoshi Nakamoto's wealth is now approaching that of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, whose net worth is approximately $142 billion and currently ranks tenth on the global billionaires list.
