Premium eSIM was officially unveiled at the Solana Accelerate conference in May this year and opened for user registration. Registered users can now check their phone numbers in the Roam App.

Each user will receive an Austrian mobile number (starting with +43), which can be used to make calls, send SMS, and access high-speed internet in over 160 countries and regions. Additionally, users can view account balance and usage details in real-time through the Roam App, with all account management and functional operations completed within the App, eliminating the need to contact customer service or go through offline processes. The operation is simple, convenient, transparent, and reliable, helping users easily control communication costs globally. For users who frequently travel or attend conferences, communication costs can be reduced by up to 80%, making it particularly cost-effective and practical.
One-click activation in Roam App, stake $ROAM to receive traffic benefits
Users can complete the full process of activating Premium eSIM in the Roam App:
- Download Roam App (iOS/Android) and register an account
- Recharge to ensure account balance ≥ $20
- Email verification and binding
- Complete KYC verification (requires $2 fee)
- Successfully activate Premium eSIM
For users who have already opened Roam Global eSIM, Roam will provide service transfer between Global eSIM and Premium eSIM, automatically transferring the remaining account traffic to ensure uninterrupted communication service. Note that only one of Roam Global eSIM and Premium eSIM can be activated at the same time; switching back to Global eSIM will invalidate the Austrian number, but data will be fully preserved.
Currently, Roam has deployed nearly 5.5 million self-built WiFi nodes in over 190 countries globally and accessed 4.5 million OpenRoaming nodes, constructing the world's largest open wireless network. Premium eSIM users can connect to WiFi hotspots for free within Roam node coverage, and can also receive free eSIM traffic daily through check-ins.

By combining over 10 million global WiFi hotspot nodes with eSIM services covering over 180 countries, Roam has created a global wireless network that requires no SIM card change and offers "instant connection upon arrival". This decentralized architecture breaks through traditional telecom service boundaries defined by countries, promoting communication infrastructure from centralization to open collaboration.
Simultaneously, Roam has achieved a closed loop binding of user identity and on-chain behavior. After completing KYC and DID creation in the App, users' check-ins, point acquisitions, token burn, and staking activities can be recorded and verified on-chain. The newly added "watch ads to earn points" function further integrates with the on-chain ecosystem: after completing WiFi check-ins to receive Roam Points or eSIM traffic, users can watch ads to earn an additional 30 Roam Points, incentivizing interaction and enriching on-chain records. Roam supports multiple payment methods like credit cards, cryptocurrencies, and Alipay, helping Web2 users transition naturally to Web3 while providing Web3 users with truly usable real-life application scenarios.
