On August 16, the cryptocurrency data aggregation platform CoinGecko announced a series of strategic leadership changes to drive its next phase of growth. Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Bobby Ong was appointed as CEO, replacing co-founder and former CEO TM Lee, who will transition to the role of President.
During his 11-year tenure as Chief Operating Officer, Ong played a key role in developing CoinGecko's business strategy, expanding global business, and enhancing its global influence. TM Lee will focus on advancing long-term product vision and leading zero-to-one R&D projects. This transition allows him to refocus on foundational innovation while maintaining strategic continuity.
Additionally, Cedric Chan will be appointed as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for leading CoinGecko's technology roadmap and infrastructure development. Ho Xingyi will be appointed as Head of Product, transitioning from his role as Head of Growth.
