On August 26, crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett wrote, “There are rumors that Caroline D. Pham, Acting Chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), will join the cryptocurrency payment platform MoonPay after the permanent chair is confirmed.” MoonPay declined to comment.
A CFTC spokesperson did not deny the rumor, telling me: “As she stated in May, Acting Chairwoman Pham will return to the private sector once a new Chairwoman is confirmed. In the interim, she remains committed to faithfully executing the President’s agenda and delivering on his promise to ‘win’ in crypto.”
