SpaceX has just made a large Bitcoin transaction worth about $268 million, marking the first cryptocurrency transfer by the Elon Musk-led corporation in the past three months. According to data from a blockchain tracking wallet, about 1,187 BTC were sent to an address starting with “bc1qq” and 1,208 BTC to a wallet “bc1qj7,” both of which have shown no signs of further activity since the transaction.
Analysts on the Arkham platform later labeled a similar transaction from July as a Coinbase Prime Custody wallet, leading many experts to suggest that SpaceX’s latest move may be a reorganization of its internal wallet, rather than a sale or accumulation of more Bitcoin on the market. However, the timing of the transaction still caught the attention of the crypto community, as SpaceX is usually quite secretive about its digital asset strategy.
SpaceX previously made a major transaction on the blockchain on July 22, after three years of no transfers. Specifically, at 13:09 on July 22, 2025 Vietnam time, a wallet address labeled as belonging to SpaceX (starting with 15oKQ7 and ending with i7Jf1G) transferred 1,308 BTC, equivalent to about $153 million, to an anonymous wallet address (starting with bc1q8k and ending with phartf).
Before 2025, the last time SpaceX made a BTC transfer out of its wallet was on June 10, 2022, when the company sent 3,505 BTC (worth about $102 million at the time) to the Coinbase exchange.
