A recent report by Messari Research analyzed that 0G, an AI-centric, modular Layer 1 network, is emerging as a core infrastructure for decentralized artificial intelligence (DeAI). 0G integrates three services—computing, storage, and data availability (DA)—to increase the verifiability of AI workflows and presents a distributed network environment that enables high-fidelity inference and fine-tuning.
0G, which launched its mainnet and token simultaneously in September 2025, features a unique chain architecture specialized for AI development. According to Mesari Research , the network integrates routing, permission management, and payments into a single structure. It also introduces .0G Identity, which allows humans and agents to be identified by understandable names instead of raw addresses, significantly improving the clarity of interactions. Notably, the testnet attracted over 100 validators, leading major infrastructure companies such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Blockdaemon to join the 0G ecosystem.
0G is designed to simultaneously provide AI model inference and training acceleration on a single infrastructure. While each service is provided by an independent provider, job submission, receipt, and payment are automatically coordinated on-chain through the 0G chain. The access environment, built on a universal API and SDK, allows various application teams, including agents, to utilize GPU and storage resources on-demand. Clients can select a specific compute provider to request execution, verifiably storing results based on Merkle hashes, and even optimize for redundancy and latency.
One of the core services, 0G Compute, supports inference and fine-tuning of large language models such as Llama-3 70B. Results are submitted cryptographically signed and evaluated by a network of validators, and a decentralized fee settlement system pays providers on a per-work basis. Consumer-centric agents, including NFTs, integrate AI features optimized for privacy, and storage securely stores and shares continuous learning data.
According to Mesari Research , 0G storage ensures recoverability even in the event of operator failure, and enhances infrastructure reliability by distributing and sharding datasets and checkpoints. The data availability layer standardizes the delivery path for large-scale posts through externally verifiable blob units, and integration with OPstack and Arbitrum for cross-chain interoperability has also been achieved.
AI Alignment Nodes are separate supervisory nodes, not typical block producers, that monitor the accuracy and compliance of AI response output. Their license-based incentive program consists of 150 million tokens, representing 15% of the total 0G token supply. They are designed to allow delegated participation even without direct node operation, ensuring both network scalability and infrastructure integrity.
Meanwhile, 0G tokens, launched on September 22, 2025, issued a total of 1 billion, of which 56% were allocated to ecosystem and community rewards, and the remaining 44% to the team and early investors. They perform core network functions such as payments, gas fees, and staking, and play a central role in the service-specific settlement system. Initially, stakes were distributed among 10 validators, and participation is gradually increasing.
The 0G Foundation operates an $88.88 million Ecosystem Growth Fund and an $8.88 million Guild Program to support ecosystem growth. It also supports partner developers in their initial workloads through SDK-based integrations. Dozens of projects have realized compute and data pipelines through this early support program, and its on-chain quantifiable structure ensures project sustainability and rewards contributions.
Ultimately, 0G responds to market demands for improved accessibility to large-scale data processing and AI inference services through the decentralization of AI technology. Mesari Research assessed that, in a world where AI infrastructure remains highly centralized, 0G presents a new alternative for building open and responsible AI systems by decentralizing computing resources and data management authority.
