In the beginning, no one cares. People see the "overnight success" and don't see the grueling journey it takes. For most, the journey proves to be too harsh to endure. This is why you need to develop mental toughness to match an armor of steel and grit abrasive enough to grind down a slab of concrete. (^ have a lot to say on this and what I've learned in terms of developing these - will write long form when I have some time). I have been lucky enough to speak to numerous people who I look up to in different areas and have extensively studied people in different fields who are outliers - these qualities are a common thread.
