Multi-chain + Fiat Support for Existing Payment Systems Custom logic for each network is no longer required. Support for various multi-chains. Support for fiat currencies beyond stablecoins. Payment processors for ACH, SEPA, or card networks can now use the same payment model. 2. Extensions Optional data can be passed between the client, server, and facilitator. This allows for new features such as identity verification. 3. Dynamic 'payTo' Routing Previously, the server always returned a single recipient address for x402 requests. Now, the address, role, and callback payment logic can be dynamically routed on a per-request basis. This allows for separate payment recipient addresses and processing logic to be executed based on the resource used and the person handling the transaction. Suitable for Marketplaces 4. Automatic Discovery & Dynamic Service Metadata The Discovery feature is a system that automatically discovers APIs/services in x402 V2. For example, suppose Service A provides a weather data API (/weather) via x402. The API's price, network, and input/output formats are declared as discovery metadata. The facilitator automatically collects this information, and when a user later asks Service A what x402 services are available, the information is returned. This information is crucial for future AI agent environments. For example, if a request is made to the AI, "Use the cheapest weather data API to retrieve data," the AI can use the discovery feature to search for weather API prices across multiple services and retrieve weather data using the cheapest API.
