Sports IP tokenization "Score" onboarding, presenting a model linking fan engagement and on-chain rewards.
ZK rollup, $750 million stablecoin liquidity, and Bybit integration complete the trinity.
Beyond financial RWAs, to culture and sports... "Accelerating the evolution of the distribution layer."
Score Protocol is a project that tokenizes sports intellectual property (IP) and connects fan participation with on-chain rewards and utilities. Through this integration with Mantle Network, it presents a new cultural and sports real asset tokenization (RWA) model that combines sports and blockchain.
The SCOR token has been enabled for on-chain trading and liquidity provision on Fluxion, a Mantle native decentralized exchange (DEX), and has also been listed on the spot market of Bybit, a global virtual asset exchange, establishing a distribution structure that encompasses both centralized exchanges (CEXs) and DEXs.
Mantle announced its "All-in RWA" strategy in its annual report, "2025 RWApped," released on the 10th. This SCORE onboarding is interpreted as part of a strategy to expand RWA beyond its existing financial focus into the cultural and sports sectors, connecting the $500 billion (KRW 738 trillion) global sports IP market on-chain.
SCORE leverages Mantle's zero-knowledge proof (ZK) optimized infrastructure to enable fast and cost-effective transactions. Combined with the Mantle ecosystem's rich stablecoin and DEX liquidity, SCORE ensures clear price discovery and an efficient trading environment. The Bybit spot listing also enables seamless cross-exchange integration between on-chain and centralized exchanges.
Mantle Expands RWA Strategy...From Finance to Culture and Sports
Mantle Network is emerging as a leader in the real-world asset tokenization market, achieving record-breaking performance this year, including surpassing $2.2 billion in total assets locked (TVL) and $750 million in stablecoin supply.
In particular, it has established itself as an institutional-grade financial infrastructure by successively onboarding major financial RWA tokens such as QCDT, a money market fund token based on the Qatar National Bank license, Ethena USDe, and Ondo USDY.
This Score Protocol onboarding is interpreted as a signal that Mantle is expanding its business beyond financial assets into a new RWA area called cultural and sports IP.
ZK rollup, DEX liquidity, and CEX linkage trinity structure completed.
Score's Mantle onboarding is evaluated as a comprehensive infrastructure integration that goes beyond a simple token listing.
First, Mantle introduced Optimism (OP)-Succinct-based ZK Validity Rollups this year, becoming the first OP stack Layer 2 to transition to ZK rollups. This ensures faster settlement speeds and higher security compared to existing optimistic rollups, and Score can now execute low-cost, high-speed transactions based on this ZK-optimized infrastructure.
Second, on-chain trading and liquidity provisioning via Fluxion, Mantle's native DEX, provides direct access to the $750 million in stablecoin liquidity held by the Mantle ecosystem. This simultaneously enhances price discovery clarity and trading efficiency.
Third, the listing of the SCOR token on Bybit's spot exchange enabled cross-exchange integration between on-chain and centralized exchanges. Mantle has been pursuing close integration with Bybit since last year, and this partnership further enhances the distribution structure, organically linking CEX, DEX, and Layer 2.
Independent L1 Evolution Predicted...On-chain Connection of the $500 Billion Sports IP Market
Mantle stated through its official X channel that "Score's introduction of IP tokenization and gaming suites to Mantle creates real utility for both fans and creators."
Of particular note is SCORE's plan to evolve into an independent Layer 1 (L1) blockchain in the future. Mantle emphasized, "As SCORE evolves to an independent L1, this synergy will be further enhanced, unlocking even greater value across the $500 billion sports IP market, encompassing accessibility, efficiency, loyalty structures, and cross-chain rewards."
This suggests that Mantle goes beyond simply providing Layer 2 scalability, enabling various RWA projects to grow and evolve into independent chains.
Mantle's Emily Bao, a key advisor, previously stated that "Mantle is strengthening its role as a key hub for cross-chain stablecoin liquidity and the on-chain capital markets that rely on it," and that "it will expand its role as a bridge between traditional finance and on-chain."
Meanwhile, the Mantle (MNT) token entered the top 25 in market capitalization on CoinMarketCap (CMC) today, maintaining its position among the top Layer 2 projects, and is being traded on the domestic virtual asset exchange Upbit.
