According to a report by Cointelegraph on December TechFlow, Ethereum will undergo a major scaling upgrade in 2026. The upcoming Glamsterdam hard fork will introduce perfectly parallel processing technology, significantly increasing the gas limit from the current 60 million to 200 million, while approximately 10% of validators will switch to zero-knowledge proof (ZK) verification. These improvements will pave the way for the Ethereum L1 network, potentially enabling it to reach a processing capacity of 10,000 transactions per second.
Furthermore, the number of data blocks will increase significantly, potentially reaching 72 or more per block, enabling the Layer 2 (L2) network to handle hundreds of thousands of transactions per second. The planned Heze-Bogota hard fork at the end of the year will focus on enhancing the network's censorship resistance, further solidifying Ethereum's decentralized nature.
