In the last week of 2025, we saw… Pudgy Penguins took over the Sphere & shows that their brand is out to target the web2 crowd Yuga Labs acquired Unreal Engine creator from Improbable & shows that they’re doubling down on Otherside becoming the leading creator platform in web3 We see the 2 leading NFT projects end a difficult year with a bang But more than that, we see a contrasting direction taken by these 2 powerhouses: Pudgy Penguins is out to be a giant IP in web2 world competing with the likes of Disney by trying to grow beyond web3 Otherside is out to be a giant creator platform competing with the likes of Roblox by trying to double down on web3 One tries to grow from web3 and beyond while one tries to double down on web3 railes Both approaches can work imo but only time will tell Either way, it’s shaping up to be a big 2026 for both of them 🫡🥳
