Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has highly evaluated the potential for cryptocurrency growth in Pakistan, predicting that โif the current trend continues, it could become one of the global cryptocurrency leaders by 2030.โ
Zhao Changpeng made these remarks in a recent interview with the CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council, discussing Pakistan's policy direction and market potential. He emphasized that Pakistan is accelerating the institutionalization of cryptocurrency.
According to Cointelegraph, Zhao cited Pakistan's young and tech-savvy demographic as its greatest strength. He noted the high proportion of people familiar with mobile and digital environments, and the country's ability to accurately assess demand for digital assets in its policymaking process.
He particularly praised Pakistan's ability to execute. He explained that Pakistan's differentiation from other emerging countries lies in its recognition of digital assets as a pillar of national growth strategy, not simply a speculative asset, and its rapid institutionalization. This means that the pace of implementation goes beyond policy announcements to actual systems and markets.
Markets also suggest that Pakistan, with its geopolitical location bridging Central Asia, the Middle East, and South Asia, could emerge as a hub for the cryptocurrency and Web3 industries. If regulatory uncertainty is resolved, global exchanges and blockchain companies are expected to enter the market in earnest, rapidly building a large user base.
Zhao Changpeng's remarks once again highlight the shift in cryptocurrency leadership from developed countries to emerging economies. Given that countries with limited existing financial infrastructure can increase financial accessibility and accelerate industrial growth through digital assets, attention is focused on whether Pakistan can emerge as a new leading example.
