According to TechFlow TechFlow, on January 3, 2009, the first Bitcoin block— the Genesis Block—was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto at 18:15:05 (UTC) (approximately 02:15 AM Beijing time on January 4), marking the official launch of the Bitcoin network.
The Genesis Block not only contains the first block reward (50 BTC), but also includes a headline from the British newspaper The Times: "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks," symbolizing that Bitcoin was born against the backdrop of the financial crisis and is widely interpreted as a critique and symbolic statement of the traditional banking system and bailout policies at the time.
