With the US arresting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Maria Corina Machado, a prominent Bitcoin supporter, is being considered as a strong candidate to become the next leader, Cointelegraph reported. Maria Machado is a Venezuelan human rights activist and political leader who won the Nobel Peace Prize last year. She has previously stated, "Bitcoin is a lifeline for Venezuelans. Bitcoin is a technology for freedom, and it can solve poverty in Venezuela by protecting property rights, lowering inflation, and ensuring equal opportunity." According to the US prediction market platform Kalshi, Machado is in second place with a 28% chance of becoming the next Venezuelan leader. Opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia, who ran for president last year but is currently in exile due to election fraud, currently has a 32% chance.
